Kent Mariners Baseball Club is delighted to announce a friendship with the Lake Erie Crushers, an independent professional Baseball team based in Avon, Ohio, USA. The Crushers play in the Frontier League, a partner league of Major League Baseball (MLB), and the team made the post season in 2019.

The alliance – which all started with an email and subsequent zoom meetings – will entail collaborating on future projects, social media efforts, knowledge and experience sharing and more to assist in both clubs achieving their respective goals.

Kent Mariners’ General Manager, Keiron Peskett, said: “We are thrilled to announce this collaboration with the Crushers. Our baseball club is founded on the principles of having fun, being accessible to all and being competitive; we feel that we have a friend in Ohio who can really enhance and support that offering for us to attract new and experienced players to our ball club. The Crushers are entering an exciting phase of their history with some gifted players in their ranks, and we are looking forward to following their journey during the 2021 season and beyond. Similarly, we have ambitious plans moving into the coming season and we are so honoured to have the Crushers in our corner as we take to the diamond in 2021.”

Tom Kramig, President & CEO of the Lake Erie Crushers, commented: “The Lake Erie Crushers are thrilled and honoured to announce our partnership with Kent Mariners Baseball Club. It’s exciting to see the great game of baseball growing in the United Kingdom and we look forward to helping the Mariners expand the sport for years to come.”
